Possibilities of Play!

Parents and children have spent more time together than ever before over the past 12 months.

Our campaign in July looks at how parents and children can actively engage in moments of playfulness by recognising the possibilities of play in everyday interactions.

Play happens everywhere and anywhere; you only have to observe children playing with the cardboard box that a toy they really wanted came in to know that they are always looking for opportunities to co-create playful interactions.

Once we become attuned to these moments we notice them more often and therefore recognise more opportunities to be playful together.

Our play bombing in local parks and green spaces offers disturbances to the space to create an opportunity for a moment of play; this is in addition to more traditional ways we think about play where the possibilities for play go from everywhere and anywhere and are narrowed down into a time and space that is sanctioned for playing usually without parents.

Helping us to think differently about play supports.

We have produced some informative videos about looking for those moments or cues. Families that play together stay together!
