🎉 We’re thrilled to share some exciting news! 🎉
Sandwell Council has been shortlisted for a national Play England Award in recognition of its commitment to improving opportunities for children and young people to play across the borough.
This fantastic achievement reflects the voices of more than 2,200 children, parents, carers and partners who helped shape Sandwell’s Play Sufficiency Assessment and Framework, ensuring children’s experiences and ideas are at the heart of decision-making.
At Go Play Sandwell, we’re proud to be part of this journey, helping create fun, inclusive and accessible opportunities for children and families to play, connect and thrive. From community play sessions and Play Streets to supporting borough-wide events such as the Festival of Free Play, National Play Day and the Sandwell Summer Festival, it’s wonderful to see this work recognised on a national stage.
A huge thank you to all the children, families, schools, community groups and partners who continue to support and champion play across Sandwell. đź’›
đź‘Ź Congratulations to everyone involved in making Sandwell a more child-friendly place to grow up.
🏆 Winners will be announced at the Play England Awards this Thursday 8th October. Wish us luck!
