Go Play Family Fun Day: A Celebration of Community and Play

There was no better way to kick off my Christmas Eve than by being part of the GoPlay Family Fun Day at Cradley Heath Community Centre. There were so many different activities, and hot food was catered throughout the day. Both children and parents loved it.
The children really enjoyed the face painter, letting their imaginations run wild as they felt like “superheroes and princesses.” The balloon artist crafted magical creatures that brought smiles all around, from parents to participants. The Animal Man stole the show, introducing fascinating creatures that left both children and grown-ups fully engaged. Meanwhile, the energy in the multi-sports room was unstoppable as football and team games brought everyone together for some friendly competition.
“My favourite was the balloon man and playing football with my friends. The Animal Man’s snakes were so big, but the best part was the food because I got to eat really nice food,” said Yazan, age 8.
Parents didn’t miss out either. They enjoyed a cosy space with hot food, drinks, and biscuits, swapping stories and laughter while their children explored and played.
“It was such a fantastic day for the children—and for us parents as well,” shared Garry.
This celebration of community and play created lasting memories and was truly unforgettable.
